Coins spread all over the floor, actors hiding among the audience, physical rhythm dominating the speech – I still can’t get over how great and different German Theatre is!

Yesterday being quite the fortunate day, I was given tickets to watch a play called “Berlin Alexanderplatz” at the Schaubuehne am Leniner Platz. It’s an adaptation of Alfred Doeblin’s novel and as far as I know there’s also a film based on this story.

Even though at times I felt  like the director showed off all his talent within the first half of the play, it was still fascinating to watch, and surely every one in the audience (or at least for the 90 minute duration of the play) had the chance to look at Berlin through the eyes of a criminal wanting to change his life style and failing to do so.
